NYPD Psych Disqualification Appeal

NYPD Psychological, Medical & Background/Character Disqualifications

As a Civil Service Appeals Law Firm, we help disqualified Civil Service job applicants appeal their NYPD disqualifications. If you receive a NYPD Notice of Proposed Disqualification (NOPD) for a psychological, medical or background/character disqualification feel free to contact us.

You can appeal a NYPD Psychological DQ by filing an appeal with the NYPD Candidate Assessment Division. Your best chances for a successful appeal is to hire a Civil Service Attorney and a forensic psychologist familiar with civil service disqualifications.

The first appeal of a NYPD NOPD psychological disqualification is to the NYPD Candidate Assessment Division. In the case of psychological disqualifications you may get a 2nd psychological interview. If you receive a 2nd psychological interview it is best to prepare with an expert.

The next step would be a Notice of Disqualification (NOD) which is appealed to the NYC Civil Service Commission. The Commission holds hearings to determine if your disqualification was improper.

When you are disqualified, your disqualification will not be reversed unless you take action.
