NYPD Psychological Disqualification – Second Interview

The number of candidates getting their disqualification reversed at a second psychological interview has recently increased.

You must file a NYPD Psychological Disqualification NOPD Appeal in order to get a chance at a second interview.  If you receive a second interview you are best served to know the issues that were raised in your disqualification and the arguments made by your appeal Mental Health Professional (MHP).

NOTE: If you receive a NYPD Psychological Review NOPD nothing will change unless you take action and appeal it.

NYPD PSYCHOLOGICAL DISQUALIFICATION – NYPD Psych DQ

If you receive a NYPD Psychological Notice of Proposed Disqualification (NOPD), you should appeal rather than try to explain this disqualification at every future job interview for the rest of your life.

The percentage of successful appeals has shot up due to the psychological re-interview policy at the NYPD.  There was a time, not long ago, when your only chance of getting a Psychological Disqualification reversed was at the NYC Civil Service Commission. But now, the NYPD re-interviews many candidates who file a NYPD Psychological Review NOPD appeal.

Those disqualified candidates who do not file an appeal pass up the chance to get a re-interview, which is also known as a NOPD interview. If you do not appeal, you will never get another chance to get appointed from that exam.

The NYPD re-interviews candidates who receive NYPD psychological NOPD emails.  This re-interview most often occurs at NYPD Psychological Services in East Elmhurst.

The only way to get a re-interview is by appealing your NYPD psychological NOPD within 30 days.
