Stressed after Receiving an NYPD Psychological Disqualification?

All NYPD Candidates must go through the Psychological Evaluation process, and some will receive a psychological disqualification. There are many reasons why you might receive a psychological disqualification. It could be that the NYPD Psychologist felt you had psychological issues that would adversely affect your ability to effectively perform your duties. It could also be that the psychologist simply made a mistake. If you feel that you were erroneously disqualified, you should appeal your disqualification in an effort to get a new assessment from an independent psychologist that can give you a more accurate assessment of your psychological makeup and possibly get your disqualification decision reversed. You may receive a psychological disqualification for reasons such as poor stress management, anger issues, racial bias or any other issue that might deem you unfit for police work.

Kevin Sheerin is a retired NYPD Captain who specializes in Disqualification Appeals. He has more than 21 years of experience helping Candidates appeal and reverse their disqualifications. Candidates often feel overwhelmed by the NYPD appeals process. Kevin and his experienced legal team can walk you through the process, help you find a psychological expert and ensure that you make smart choices along the way.

If you have been disqualified for any reason and would like to schedule a free consultation, please contact Kevin Sheerin at 516.248.0040 to discuss your options.
