  • CAS-16 Request for School Records
  • CAS-19 Request for Candidate’s Employment Records
  • CAS-25 Authorization for Release of Information

  • CAS-32 Notice to NYPD Police Officer Candidates
  • CAS-38 Corruption Hazard Acknowledgement

NYPD Police Officer candidates are required to take and pass a competitive civil service examination by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS).

The NYPD Candidate Assessment Division will only accept forms from candidates who have successfully completed the written Civil Service exam. Upon a candidate’s successful completion of the written exam, the department will notify the candidate to proceed with the form application process. Eligible applicants will receive a welcome email to begin their hiring process.

How To Pursue An NYPD Disqualification Appeal

If you were disqualified as a candidate for a law enforcement or other civil service position for psychological reasons, the first thing you should do is hire an experienced and qualified disqualification appeal lawyer, who thoroughly understands the appeal process and will examine your particular case to determine whether or not you have grounds for a  psychological disqualification appeal. In addition, you will need to hire a Mental Health Professional who will evaluate you and then negate any negative findings reported by the NYPD psychologist. Kevin can assist you with this task as well, as he works with several psychologists who specialize in this area of forensic psychology.

There are many reasons why a candidate might be psychologically disqualified, such as issues brought to light during the psychological evaluation process, including any arrest history, driving record, employment history, disciplinary issues in school, alcohol and/or drug or other substance misuse/abuse, interpersonal history, educational history, mental health history, prior psychological prescription drug use and psychological test results.

As a civil service disqualification appeal attorney with more than 18 years of experience, Kevin has helped many clients win their appeal. He can help you too.

NYPD NOPD PSYCHOLOGICAL DISQUALIFICATION-PICK YOUR MHP CAREFULLY

If you receive a NYPD NOPD psychological disqualification you must interview the psychologist you want to hire to represent you or face severe regrets afterwards.

There are psychologists charging very low fees to represent disqualified NYPD candidates in psychological disqualification appeals which may seem like a great chance to get reinstated to the NYPD Police Officer eligible list. What is not revealed is that these psychologists will report that you are NOT PSYCHOLOGICALLY QUALIFIED for the position of police officer and mail a report saying that as part of your appeal.

THEREFORE;

Before hiring a psychologist to represent you in your NYPD NOPD psychological disqualification appeal you should:

  1. Ask the psychologist what their fee includes.
  2. Ask will they let you know if they are going to write a report that agrees with the NYPD that you are “psychologically unsuitable”.
  3. Ask to see the report before they send it.
  4. Have them agree upfront that they will not send the report if they cannot support your candidacy.

Sometimes a great price may generate the report that prevents you from ever being a law enforcement officer. If it imperative that you ask these questions in advance to save yourself from heartache as a result of a terrible psychological report.
